Artist Statement
"Lynn Hanson’s artistic career spans 30 years and a large body of work, with a recurring theme of vessels, ranging from ships to houses to decorative pieces in the home. Her prevailing style, reflecting her family history, is influenced by Scandinavian design, Danish especially. Lynn has been on the Studio tour all but 2 years and she lives in Lynnwood.
Her artistic practice involves cold wax and oil paint, building up layers of color to carve into and build again. This process of excavation finds what’s hidden beneath the surface. Mixed media and acrylic are also mediums used in her art."
Edmonds Connection
Lynn moved to Edmonds 20 years ago from San Diego. She became involved in the Edmonds Art Studio Tour in the first year and has been on the Tour every year except for 2. Lynn joined the Edmonds art community by being the coordinator of Art Walk Edmonds early on for 1 1/2 years. She has since been on the new Art Walk Edmonds Board as well as on the AWE Events Committee and the AWE Mural Committee.
