Ken Ketchum

(He/him)

Joyful Art Studio

Acrylic on Canvas or Board, Wooden Substrate Sculptural Paintings

Artist Statement

"Ken Ketchum is a Pacific Northwest–based acrylic painter and a four-year participant in the Edmonds Art Studio Tour. Working primarily in an impressionist style, he creates landscapes that capture shifting light, open skies, and the quiet beauty of the region.

His recent work features birds in motion woven into expansive landscapes, adding movement, rhythm, and a subtle human connection to each scene. These dynamic elements invite viewers to engage emotionally and step into the moment rather than simply observe it.

Inspired by nature and the feeling of being immersed in it, Ken builds his paintings through layered acrylic applications that create depth, texture, and atmosphere. His goal is not just to depict a place, but to convey the sensation of light, air, and movement within it."
