Artist Statement
"Margarita is based in Shoreline and exhibits in Edmonds. She is participating in the Edmonds Art Studio Tour for the first time this year.
Working primarily in oil paint, Margarita also explores acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, and digital mediums. Her work centers on narrative-driven scenes that blend portraiture with landscape, often placing people or animals within thoughtfully constructed environments. Inspired by cinematic moments in nature and the elegance of both human and animal form, she builds her compositions through a combination of photography and imagination. Using her camera to gather reference material, she develops original scenes that translate her envisioned atmospheres into carefully composed paintings."
Edmonds Connection
Margarita has called Edmonds home for over a decade, building both her life and creative career within the community. Through her work in several local restaurants, she has developed a deep familiarity with the people and character of the town. As an artist, she has actively contributed to the local arts scene by participating in several ArtWalks and exhibiting in the Edmonds Art Festival over the past few years. Edmonds is both her home and the foundation of her ongoing artistic development.
