Artist Statement
"David has been living in Edmonds for nearly 40 years and has participated in the tour for about 12 years. He loves to paint landscapes and oils are his medium of choice. He is most inspired when painting outdoors, trying to capture the setting or a fleeting moment in time. It enables him to see colors, light and atmosphere first hand. David is drawn primarily to places that give him a sense of peace and tranquility –– mountain streams, quiet pastures, secluded farms. His goal is to portray and pass on a sense of peacefulness in his work. David is painting looser and experimenting more. He doesn’t want to create an exact recording but is more interested in being expressive and creating a feeling or mood. Recently David made the leap from graphic design to painting full-time. He is excited about exploring what lies ahead!"
Edmonds Connection
As a long-time resident of Edmonds I have seen it grow into a vibrant art community. I have been privileged to exhibit my oil paintings at Cole Gallery and gicleés at Interiors of Edmonds. Every year I look forward to participating in the Edmonds Art Studio Tour and meeting so many wonderful people.
