Artist Statement
"Jill draws inspiration from her background in Interior Design, which influences her creative process. Her fascination with color and pattern shines through in her paintings, where she uses bold palettes and intricate motifs reminiscent of textiles and architectural elements. Jill frequently incorporates geometric arrangements and vibrant hues that echo the interplay of light and space found in well-designed interiors. Her love for nature, especially flowers, leads Jill to capture their organic shapes and lively colors in her work.
She experiments with a loose and somewhat decorative style. She is constantly evolving her approach, drawing inspiration from the expressive brushwork of the German Expressionists and the luminous qualities of the Impressionists. In addition to earning a degree in Fine Arts, Jill has pursued advanced studies at Gage Academy and worked closely with local Edmonds artists. She is currently a mentee with Liana Bennett at Arts Umbrella, further honing her skills and expanding her artistic horizons."
