Artist Statement
"Tamara Lee is a 3rd year returning artist to the Edmonds Art Tour. Her work is informed by observing nature, whether plant, insect, bird or beast. Typically, Tamara depicts her subjects in a contemporary realism style, but her work can also stray into playful whimsy, as experienced in. her popular Peas & Potatoes series of art prints. Mediums she works in include metal leaf and oil on panels, charcoal on panels and botanical works on paper.
Tamara is an avid gardener with a long background in the horticulture industry; during which, she also freelanced as an illustrator of botanical and natural science subjects. Now, she is planning a series of drawing & painting classes to teach basic to advanced rendering techniques while sharing plant & nature insights. What could be more fun than getting together for art making, plants, flowers, fruits, vegetables, nature objects and community? Well - doing it here in the beautiful city of Edmonds of course!
You can find Tamara at the Graphite Art Center, studio #4."
